With the general election just weeks away, we have launched a new Crowdfunder to ensure our voice is as big and as loud as possible over the coming weeks and months. The funds raised will support our work across four key campaign pillars: media and awareness, science and research, legislation, and political pressure.

Every penny counts in our fight for a sewage-free Windermere. We want to create more noise, extend our science programmes, support others who are also collecting data, expand our legal capabilities and, most importantly over the next few weeks, get the politicians to commit to protecting Windermere. We are also very excited to have match funding, so for every £1 donated we will receive an additional £1. This applies to every donation under £250. More information of the work we do can be found on the crowdfunder page and www.savewindermere.com
We want as well to highlight to you something that has come from our continuous investigation into the seemingly endless failings of the Environment Agency to hold United Utilities accountable for the damage they are inflicting on Windermere. As part of this research, we have placed A LOT of Environmental Information Regulation requests. Recently, when we investigated a fish kill in the Lake District National Park, the EA sent us the documents photographed above. They tried to claim that these redactions were made because they contained personal information - a claim which we believe is completely untrue.
The Environment Agency is turning a blind eye to the damage that is being done and we have countless examples of them not doing their job. There is no one else holding the EA, UU or the government accountable for their failings to protect Windermere from sewage, so we need your help. This is just one way in which a donation today could help the campaign to progress and expose the continued failing of the regulator and the damage being done by United Utilities.
We have more updates coming your way over the next few weeks. It's a busy time, but we truly believe we have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to Save Windermere.
