Did you see Ed Davey fall into Windermere? We declined to join him on the paddle boards for that exact reason, but, once he had dried off, we took him to one of UU’s sewage pipes and gave him our 10-point plan to Save Windermere from sewage.

READ THE FULL PLAN AND SIGN TO SUPPORT

The 10-point plan has been shared with all political parties and can be found here. It includes actions for the short term (achieved in 5 years) and for the longer-term, outlining what needs to be achieved in the next 10 years to protect Windermere forever.

Ed Davey's visit is the latest in a series of engagements with party leaders as election campaigning gets underway, highlighting the critical importance of Windermere in the national conversation. In recent weeks, Save Windermere sat down with Labour leadership to present 3 years worth of evidence and data supporting the campaign's objectives.

Windermere is the symbol of freshwater in the UK and if we can’t protect it from the exploitation of the water industry and the institutional corruption of the regulators then there is no hope for the rest of the UK’s rivers, lakes and coastlines.

We invite you to share this with your friends and families and ask them to support our plan by signing on our website and adding their names to it.

In a strange act of serendipity, this comes exactly a year after we gathered together in our thousands, with Steve Coogan, Lee Mack and Paul Whitehouse on the Glebe in Bowness. At that event we called for Windermere to be saved from sewage and now, this is our moment to make that happen and force the next government to follow our plan and take action to stop the sewage.
