This comes just days after the latest spill data has been released which, once again, solidifies the campaigns belief that United Utilities is exploiting our lake for dividend returns and the EA is failing to hold them accountable for this damage.

The latest spill data adds from United Utilities which adds to the 18,900+ spilling hours seen between 2020-2022, bringing the current total to 27,786 hours of untreated sewage spilled in the Windermere catchment in the years 2020-2023. In 2023, Windermere saw 8787 hours of untreated sewage flow into its waters equating to 366 24 hour days.
