Save Wimbledon Park Playground!

The Issue

Wimbledon Park playground has been left to wreck and ruin over the last few years with play equipment increasingly dilapidated and unusable. Whilst other play spaces in the area have seen modernisation and improvement works this playground has fallen foul to the  broader political/ big business agendas at play in this area.

Unbelievably, Merton council has no listed improvement works planned for Wimbledon Park!

Our children deserve a safe, usable play space in the local area now, not in 10 years time after the conclusion of tennis expansion works!

We, the local families who use the play space demand action from Merton council including:

  • an explanation as to why there are no planned improvement works relating to this play space.
  • a schedule of immediate works to ensure the safety and usability of current equipment
  • consultation regarding the modernisation of this play area moving forward.
