Priority: High
Dear Bryan, Nils and Signe,
we launched a petition to have the WSC officially propose and support the submittal to shift the lines before 27th of November.
The petition started yesterday morning and it has already almost 700 supporters. MOst of them Germans, but also USA and Sri Lanka and from other countries globally.

I will be in Sri Lanka available for meetings on the 13th of November. I would like to see the WSC organize a meeting between FOS, WSC and the Sri Lankan Government for that date, in Colombo.
I also propose a meeting at WSC Europe (Brussels) on the 16th or 17th between FOS, WSC, Maersk, Hapag Lloyd and the other major shipping companies.
The objetives of the meetings would be for WSC to agree with Sri Lanka on a final proposal to be sumbitted within the deadline.
People in Germany and elsewhere are rightly reacting with anger when they learn about the ship strikes in Sri Lanka and the lack of action on behalf of your member companies and the WSC.
3 years have passed without WSC taking any serious initiative to save the whales in Sri Lanka. You now have to move fast to solve the problem. Missing the deadline for the third year is not an option WSC, Maersk Hapag and the other should consider.
I will wait for your confirmation for the meeting asap. This proposal of mine will be posted as an update to the petition.
Kind regards, Paolo
