The iconic environmental sanctuary, Arthurs Seat (Wonga) at Mornington Peninsula is under threat.
Developers are proposing spending $25 million to replace the State Park’s natural charm with a theme park destined to disturb native habitats, wildlife movement, and the tranquillity cherished by locals and visitors.
There is a petition objecting to this: “Say NO to the Arthurs Seat rollercoaster: State Park not Theme Park!”

While Arthurs Seat overlooks Port Phillip Bay, it is part of the Western Port biosphere region and highlights the urgent need for a regional Strategic Management Plan. For until the government legislates a plan, bit by bit and dollar by dollar, our children’s environmental heritage will be whittled away in the quest to commercialize the region’s natural attractions and its ecotourism economy.
Please encourage others to sign the Arthurs Seat petition and this petition too.
