… a reply from The Hon. Sonya Kilkenny MP, Minister for Planning, Minister for the Suburbs saying she is considering the petition.

In my letter of 2 December 2024 to Minister Kilkenny, I advised her I had received a reply from the Minister for Environment and wrote, “I suggest the government’s reluctance to treat the Western Port catchment area and the Western Port biosphere as an interdependent entity is a mistake.  Not taking a holistic approach and ignoring the call for a regional strategic management plan will be detrimental to the region’s long-term environmental and economic future.”

This may not have been the message the Minister wanted to read right on Christmas, but the matter couldn’t wait any longer.
