The biggest public event about housing and cost of living issues is being held tonight.
More than 2,100 community leaders and members of over 400 organisations are attending an Assembly in Sydney Town Hall, alongside leading experts on housing, planning, and energy.
NSW and Federal leaders and politicians from major parties have been invited to the Assembly too. Let's hope they spare a thought for our Waterloo Estate Redevelopment.
The redevelopment area is home to over 2,000 social housing households. It's one of the largest urban renewal projects undertaken in this State and represents an opportunity to put people -- rather than commercial and political interests -- first.
That's why we're asking Premier Gladys Berejiklian and NSW Labor leader Michael Daley to ditch the current proposal and immediately commit to returning planning for the Waterloo redevelopment to the City of Sydney Council and give it back to our community.
With only nine days till election day, we need to ensure our voice is heard.
