Dear Friends of Walker's Cafe,

Here's the latest news: at the end of yesterday's planning hearing, the City planner decided to take the case under advisement, allowing for an additional FIVE DAYS for community feedback.

This is really important: it gives us the opportunity to advocate for the three essential conditions that will protect the future of Walker's Cafe:

1. A smaller footprint for the residential development in the back. Walker's Cafe has had the whole 6,000 sf lot at its disposal for the past century. Under the current plans, it's forced to make do with a space just under fourteen feet. That doesn't give the cafe enough room to function or survive financially. Give Walker's space!
2. A special condition (so-called "Q condition") that the historic cafe must remain operational. 
3. Finally, we ask that no building permit is granted for the house until the restoration of the cafe is well underway. Walker's should be the priority.
