Wadi AlBuhair was one of the most significant and beautiful gems in Bahrain. It has slowly become a waste site/dumping ground and now instead of preserving the area and trying to restore it,  it is being bulldozed for a new mall and other developments. Our geological heritage and a whole ecosystem of plants, bird species and invertebrates are at risk. This is also a very sentimental and special place for many Bahrainis. Although developments have already begun it may not be too late to preserve what is left and make the best out of the situation. 

كان وادي البحير يعتبر واحد من اهم واجمل المعالم البيئية في البحرين. ولكن مع مرور الزمن، اصبح الوادي مكبا للنفايات. اما الآن، وبدلا من الحفاظ على هذه المنطقة الثمينة ومحاولة استعادتها، بدأت عمليات التجريف لبناء مركز تجاري جديد و عدة مشاريع اخرى. ان تراثنا الجيولوجي ونظامنا البيئي بأكمله والمتكون من مختلف انواع النباتات و الطيور والافقاريات في خطر! كما ان هذا الوادي يعتبر مكان ذو قيمة ومميز للعديد من البحرينيين. على الرغم من ان عمليات التجريف قد بدأت، الا انه لم يفت الاوان بعد للحفاظ على ماتبقى من هذا التراث البيئي
