Last night we enjoyed the wonderful experience of witnessing democracy in action. 6 presiding councillors found in our favour, 4 Conservative, 2 Labour...the proposal to build in Victoria Tower Gardens was refused at the Planning Hearing.
Sadly, that is not the end of the story, as the Secretary of State still intends to decide the fate of this project himself. So in May/June there will be a public inquiry that will last 2-3 weeks. The inspector will run the inquiry, and then issue his opinion to the Secretary of State. Our case is very strong, but we cannot be complacent as the other side is backed by a number of serious donors.
We will need to raise all the money required to attend a Public Inquiry, to include the best legal team we can afford.
We have often had very kind offers of donations from supporters of the park. We need these now, more than ever, and can accept them via our CrowdJustice page :

Many thanks for your generosity!
