+LISTEN TO BARONESS DEECH ON THE WESTMINSTER HOUR bbc.in/2DKyzXd.

Mysteriously, the date of the promised second exhibition has not yet been announced.  This is the one that is meant to reveal all, giving us a clear idea of what we will be faced with once a Planning Application is submitted.  Despite the fancy PR outfit, two years on we are left guessing, in the dark, with hardly any communication, effectively boxing with ghosts…

As a result, we still do not know whether the next iteration of this totally unwelcome confection will be the very same ‘rib-cage + mound’ formula we were shown before, or something completely different, that takes into account tree roots, security requirements, UNESCO guidelines, views and all the myriad practicalities that need to be accommodated.

We have now heard on the grapevine that the much awaited second exhibition might be happening -maybe- at the beginning of December.  Watch this spot, we will get back to you once we know; but of course it is now nearly Xmas, and it feels very unsatisfactory that we should be given such short notice at a time in which everyone is so busy.

Meanwhile, long trenches have been excavated for a good length of Victoria Tower Gardens, roughly where the foundations of the Learning Centre might be expected to be.  What are these trenches for?  We know that other earlier investigations have taken place to establish the root protection zone for our wonderful plane trees, but when we have asked to see the conclusions, we have been told that the results are CONFIDENTIAL – which all sounds rather suspicious.

On the positive side, Baroness Deech has once again been venting very bravely her opposition to this development in Victoria Tower Gardens.  This time she spoke with great resolution and clarity on The Westminster Hour on 18 November. The link is:

bbc.in/2DKyzXd.  Well worth listening to!  Please pass on to all and sundry – and help us get to the 10,000 mark with the petition….
