Thank you for supporting and sharing our goal of ensuring that victim services are available for all Albertans. We appreciate you.
We also want to share our appreciation for the two members of the Government of Alberta who met with our campaign chairperson and board members from their local unit last Friday. Our hosts were generous with their time, open and attentive in our conversation, and honest about the many considerations involved in the victim services redesign. We thank them for their time, attention, and honesty.
After engaging in meaningful consultation with the Government as an individual victim services unit last week, we clearly understand the revised trajectory for the victim services redesign. We have seen that members of the Government are listening to our concerns, and that action is being taken to ensure that victim services are sustainably available for all Albertans into the future.
We remain steadfast in our goal to support the Government of Alberta to achieve its goal of ensuring adequate and appropriate victim services for all Albertans. Last week’s meeting was an important step in building a respectful, mutually beneficial, working relationship with the redesign team. We look forward to continuing to support one another as we work together to ensure that our shared goals are met.
As we shared in our last campaign update, we encourage all victim services units in Alberta to connect with the team that is working on the redesign at the Government of Alberta. We believe this is a crucial conversation for all boards and executives. If you have not yet engaged this team, you are encouraged to contact them today.
