Like many parents, we chose Ursuline Prep School for a variety of reasons - its locality, its nurturing environment, its role as an excellent preparation centre for 11+ examinations, and the faith-based education it provides. Understanding our motivations isn't hard. This school, with its Catholic foundation, allows our children to instil prayer into their everyday lives - a pivotal aspect in today's challenging world. For many of us, our first child had a wonderful experience at Ursuline and it was only natural to want the same for our younger ones. 

Now, our cherished school is under serious threat. The Board is proposing to close Ursuline Prep, impacting not just our children, but our teachers, and our community at large. Our community does not just consider this school as a place of learning, but as a home; a nurturing base where faith, learning, and community interlink. 

We note with concern that there has been a lack of transparency over the financial reasons for this proposed closure. We, therefore, call for full and fair consultations with us parents and staff before such a significant decision can be made! Our children’s education, sacred faith, and community resilience are at stake and we frankly deserve better than just to be told the school is subject to close at the end of the last academic term!
