SAVE THIS BARN, SAVE New Sewickley and STOP MeadowCrest Development's demolition plans

The Issue

This incredible historical bank barn (ca. 1850-60s with additions ca. 1940-50s) is the subject of a pending demolition to make way for a 217 unit planned residential development.

The bank barn was built at the same time as the 19th century rare Italianate style farmhouse. It is constructed of wood planks covered by a slate roof. Some of the original stone foundation remains.

The property retains integrity of location because it has not been moved. The property retains integrity of setting because there has been little alteration to the physical environment surround the property. The property retains in integrity of materials and workmanship in the stone foundation and slate roof. The property no longer retains integrity of association as there is no direct link to the original owners.

Help us honor New Sewickley’s history and long-standing agricultural community by preserving this barn in place. This is our community’s heritage and landscape. It doesn’t seem fair that our appointed & elected officials, who can put a condition to preserve the barn in place, are willing to allow this barn to be the subject of demolition. We need to save our history! We need to SAVE New Sewickley.
