Thank you so much for the outpouring of love and support . It means the world to us! I wanted to give you guys a little bit of background here as well.

On July 3rd, 2021; at approximately 9:30 p.m, the president of the homeowners' association was a member of the group igniting fireworks on community property the day that my husband and I were accosted by a group of drunken neighbors.

The original agitator ran in front of our vehicle when we slowed down to go around boxes they left in the street. A crowd formed and my husband protected me. My husband is a police officer. He kept the crowd at bay. After the original agitator swore at me and was running at me as if he were going to attack me, (he was held back by two women) my husband did get on his knees and humiliate the original attacker but nothing more. If you must know, he got on his knees, put his hands behind his back, closed his eyes and leaned his head back and told the original agitator that now he had a fair fight. I assume it was very humiliating for that man. Any other husband would have had the luxury of other options but my husband is noble and as you know, police are extraordinarily scrutinized even when they aren't on duty. 

This incident was one of the most terrifying moments of my life.

These neighbors were angry that I asked them to slow down for a squirrel in our neighborhood group. I was excited that we had a new squirrel in the neighborhood. Our first squirrel! They were angry because I didn't also ask people to slow down for their children, who play in the street. You can't make this up These individuals called me many names (one beginning with the letter c and the other beginning with the letter b) and shared images of dead animals on my post. The HOA president, who is also the group moderator, did nothing.. I didn't even know where they lived but they knew who I was and recognized my vehicle.

These neighbors are good friends and drinking buddies with the HOA president and the treasurer.

 We didn't know they were even there. We were just trying to leave the neighborhood.

Apparently someone had called the police on them and they likely assumed it was us. As an aside, igniting fireworks on community property is a big no-no. I just discovered this last week when I read the HOA documents.

This happened on a Friday and by the time they sobered up the following Tuesday, they all created a story and called my husband's employer and attempted to have him fired.
I believe the treasurer was also involved. FOIA request will bring clarity.

On October 1st, 2017, group of loud screeching girls were running in front of our home in the dark of night and I confronted them. It turns out that the daughter of the remaining board member was the leader. I imagine her mother isn't really pleased that I confronted these screaming girls.

This means that we have a clear conflict of interest with regard to our homeowners association board.

Further, on June 16th, 2015, the manager at the management company screamed at me when I politely told her she was mistaken about the type of fence we were allowed to have. She told me that she remembered me and that she would be watching me and that I could do nothing without her permission. HER  permission. She told me I couldn't put a plant in a flower pot without her permission she went on and on. I won't bore you. But she was screaming the whole time. I didn't respond in kind because I had children and rescue animals in the car. But mostly I didn't respond in kind because I'm a civilized human being. Unfortunately for her, the girl on the phone before she grabbed it gave me permission to record her. It's all there and I still have it. Imagine if a police officer told you that he remembered you and he would be watching you?

The developer at the time overrode her. He even apologized for her behavior and told us he was going to fire that company. He clearly didn't . Likely because they are the least expensive management company in the community because they make their money with fines.. He also told me that I wouldn't have to deal with them anymore. That I could go directly to him. Can you imagine after screaming at somebody like that and putting the hammer down and then being shown your place? Especially if you are as petty as she is? The first email sent to me was her words verbatim. Her opinion verbatim. The developer also told us that our garden and statues were pretty and he had no problem with them whatsoever. And we lived in peace for 8 years.

The new board was elected one year ago and within 6 months they had already begun their harassment. Mind you, the developer never took issue with our yard or gardens in the 8 years he was here.

Typically, developers are more strident and strict with regard to HOA covenants and those restrictions are lessened upon their departure.

This reeks of impropriety from start to finish.

Furthermore, we just received our tax assessment and our taxes have gone up 14.7%. Clearly, these sculptures are not affecting our property values negatively!

We have walked the neighborhood and photographed no fewer than 200 violations that have not been addressed by the board and we aren't done yet. However, these photographs will not be used to harass other neighbors. They are simply documentation to prove that the board is engaging in selective enforcement, in violation of their fiduciary duties.

So, for those watching and interested; this is what a homeowners' association board can do, or at least attempt to do, if they don't like you.

And no matter who you are, there are going to be people in this world who don't like you.

On top of that, they didn't follow the proper procedure or afford us due process. 

We are keeping our dogs.

On Tuesday I am taking myself to the police department and filing harassment charges as well.
