The women of Latin America have been experiencing intense acts of violence since the beginning of time. Though, the pandemic has increased these acts from petty theft and minor violence to death by 35%. Women of South America are being beat and assaulted in their own homes. On average 130 women a day are being either physically or sexually assaulted by trusted and loved ones unnecessarily. Along with that, forced to live and stay with their abusers due to lack of financial independence. Men in Latin countries were raised and brought up with ideologies of women 100% obeying and not working. They are thought of to be wives and mothers solely, which gives the women no money of their own. Our goal is to not only provide public temporary shelter for women while they get back on their feet, but to provide jobs. Getting women and children, food and basic clothing while also helping their mother find a job is incredibly helpful. No one deserves to be forced to live in suffering with no help from anyone. Our goal is for all women to be able to be safe in their home. All donations and signings will be sent to MADRE. MADRE is a non-profit organization with the intentions of ending women's violence and providing girls with strong women leadership in both Latin America and Africa. You can also volunteer to help the cause with your time and work along side these strong women. All people of color, women, LGBTQ members, and people with disabilities are encouraged to apply for internships with MADRE. Internships do not mean you are obligated to fly to the region. Researchers, writers, great software users, and networkers are also needed. Help the ones who need it, change the world!
