Save the Trees in our Matunga

The Issue

The environmentally aware citizens of Mumbai are concerned about the BMC's proposal to cut 30 Trees for the road widening of M Madhavan Marg and Bhartiben Ramchandra Shah Marg, just outside Indian Gymkhana playground in Matunga East, Mumbai.

Please be present in large numbers, without your vehicles, and people walking or cycling to the venue would be much appreciated in context of not only saving these 30 Trees but also in protecting all the other Trees, Plants and wonderful occupants of this calm and serene neighbourhood.

Let us unite and save these Trees before we again cribb about the bad climate, global warming, floods, congestion, poor and destructive AQI, and initiate, participate and allegate in an endless blame game. If thousands of us can gather in stadiums and theatres for matches and movies against pricey tickets we can surely participate for our dignity, living rights and to handover a livable Mumbai to our children - without tickets.

Peace and Protest walk on Sunday, the 5th of February 2023 at 0930 hours from Lad Mansion, Bhaudaji Road, Lane of SBI, Near Indian Gymkhana, Matunga, Mumbai 400019.

Save Mumbai. Save Aarey. Save Mangroves. Feed the Trees.
