Happy holidays to all the excellent people that signed the petition!!!!!!!!!!

Today set an all time record with over 300 petition signs in the last 24 hours alone!!!, which shows just how much the public is upset with the absurd upcoming Third Floor closure, to which they were never consulted, nor provided the opportunity to veto this top down process and by which they have directly contradicted the administration's claim of 'mostly positive public feedback' on their unilateral plans. 

Although the pending closure of the RBCM’s Old Town exhibit has seen extensive local and national coverage and although there is sadly only a few more days now before the Third Floor is scheduled to close indefinitely..., I wanted to point out that a dedicated group of volunteers has recently developed an excellent website www.enhanceoldtown.ca with a petition component in an attempt to promote further engagement prior to any such closure.  With the second petition we hope not just to present it to the RBCM board, but also using an official process to present it publicly in the BC Legislative Assembly.

When signing the petition on enhanceoldtown.ca please ensure that you are a resident of British Columbia, as it is an official petition to the province.

Although the Third Floor is scheduled to close in the next few days, we are in this for the long haul and we will not lie down and accept the museum administration's attempts to intimidate, sideline, ignore and silence the public on this crucial matter of our past, present and future.
