Thank you to everyone who has already signed this petition.  We are almost at 1000 signatures!!!!

We’re hoping to take this a step further as well.

If anyone is willing to write a short letter, reflecting on their memories and experiences of visiting the Old Town and other exhibits in the Becoming BC and First Peoples Galleries, we would like to gather these together.

Our aim is to show the human side of the exhibits and how they have affected and inspired people over many years.  There are many remarkable and touching stories that people and their friends and families have had of these exhibits and we think that this aspect of the exhibits might best be captured in a letter format.

The letters will be presented to the museum administration and various members of the BC government. Our hope is that these letters will highlight just how much the community cherishes this exhibit and show the human cost of closing it.

A helpful list of topics that could be included  in the letter is available and which we are happy to provide upon request.

Our aim is to complete this packet of letters by December 28, 2021.
