The city of Wichita falls is planning to buy and bulldoze the Sikes Senter mall, and this is a terrible idea. Sikes Senter Mall is more than just a building. It is a community hub, a space where of locals have gathered, worked, shopped, and built memories over the 50 years it has been here. Getting rid of it is not only short-sighted, but its also it’s a waste of opportunity, and public funds.

Demolishing the mall would hurt our community, and we do not need a stadium, another retail space, and ANOTHER park! 

If the mall gets demolished and replaced with unnecessary buildings and parks, we would likely lose beloved stores, and most of those stores, if the mall were to be demolished, would only be accessible to us online, unless we want to travel an hour just to get to another mall. 

One store that would be affected by this would be Withershins Menagerie, a small business that practically just moved into the building, and if they were forced to move out because of the demolishing of the mall, it would be financially draining, especially sense they are a small local business.
