Good afternoon everyone, hopefully this message and update find you well!

This will be a shorter update with simple reminders about the Sands Blvd Bridge issue, regarding the City Council and its meeting times. Tomorrow at 9:00 AM, there will be a Committee of the Whole (COW) meeting, where every City Council member will be present. On the Agenda for that day, the Sands Blvd Bridge is brought up as an informational topic, meaning that they will discuss it, get community insight, and make NO decisions as of right now. This is one of the few meetings they have before they go on a 2 month long break as well, so we need to voice our opposition before they go on break.

What are some important things to mention at tomorrow's meeting? The best thing to say at a City Council meeting is how this would affect you, and a demand they refuse to remove the bridge. The City Council is supposed to work for us, to let them know that. Along with that you can talk about evacuation routes, emergency responder timelines, El Dorado's tendency to flood during heavy storms, the inconvenience of removing the bridge for daily life, and many other things. We are a City of Bridges, we cannot allow Cape Coral to start removing them left and right because it suddenly benefits someone more than the 200 homes using the Bridge almost every day.

So as a reminder, tomorrow on 5/28 there is a 9:00 AM meeting at City Hall where they will specifically discuss the Sands Blvd Bridge. This is important, if you can show up please do and make your voice heard. As always, if you have any questions or concerns reach out at 239-224-9812 or simon.monteleone@gmail.com
