Hello Fellow Students & Alumni,
Supporters of the Renew Rensselaer movement distributed buttons adorned with a simple message of "Renew" before the popular Big Red Freakout hockey game, but several students were told by Public Safety to stop and leave campus. This incident, which occurred at the end of last month, continues to receive national media attention, this time from the Washington Free Beacon.
"The officers claimed streets under eminent domain were marked by police vehicles, but then insisted the students were not, in fact, permitted to stand on any public sidewalk unmarked by such a police presence, said student Michael Gardner."
