WHEREAS:

The City of Hamilton has stated that in 2023 the Re-Enactment of the Battle of Stoney Creek will no longer operate as a traditional re-enactment. The future of this major community attraction is in jeopardy. This event is important to recognizing a major historical turning point in Canadian history in the War of 1812. This also is a large attraction to local businesses, a unifying event in the Stoney Creek community and culturally significant to Canadians.

WE, the undersigned petition the City of Hamilton as follows: 

Call upon the City of Hamilton to reverse their decision and commit to bringing back the traditional Re-enactment of the Battle of Stoney Creek in 2023 and beyond.
