This weekend, San Francisco will celebrate one of the largest and most powerful Pride parades in the world—but the Presidio won’t be part of it.
For the first time in years, there will be no Presidio Pride event. Why? Because President Trump’s executive orders have banned federal agencies from co-sponsoring Pride celebrations and ended all diversity-related programming. That includes the Presidio Trust, which has hosted inclusive community events during Pride month and helped make our parks welcoming to everyone.
This is deeply disappointing—especially for those of us in District 2. Pride belongs in our parks, in our public spaces, and in the heart of our city.
Let’s be clear: this isn’t just about one event. It’s about whether the Presidio can continue to reflect the values of the people who live here—not the political agenda of a president trying to erase LGBTQ+ communities from public life.
Add your name to our petition to defend the Presidio Trust and protect it from Trump’s grip.
Because Pride—and the Presidio—deserve better.
