Seekonk Speedway has decided to remove the Powder Puff (women’s) division to introduce/replace with a new division for their Thrill Shows (The Crown Vic Cruisers). We understand wanting to keep up with popular and upcoming trends of other tracks around the US, but wish this decision wasn’t at the stake of an already established division. Some of the women who race in the Powder Puff Race have been racing at the track for years, and for some, are new and use this as a way to try their hand at racing. The Powder Puff Races became a way to develop confidence behind the wheel, gain track experience, hone in on race skills, and show the young female fans in the crowd “Hey! We can do it too!” Some women who started in the Powder Puff can be seen in Seekonks weekly competitive divisions. For many women this division is a passion for them. It eliminates the intimidation for those who may otherwise not race in the regular enduros. With this petition, we are hoping the track will see the fan appreciation and interest in the Powder Puff Division, and the value of the division  for many of their drivers. We hope they will make accommodations to keep this division running in their 2025 season, and for many years to come.
