In just over two hours, we've had a great response to our petition to Save the Powder Point Bridge by asking the National Park Service to grant historic status to the bridge.
Historic status will help us keep the bridge the way it is now without costing the Town of Duxbury any more money. In fact, a repair of the bridge would be a win for everyone. Duxbury, the state, and the nation would keep one of the country's most historic and beautiful landmarks. On top of that, there would be money left over to spend on infrastructure elsewhere in the state and nation. After all, no one needs a $172 million highway bridge to a sandbar.
