As you may know the Cherry Hill Oak was not on the August 14 Community Services and Land Use Committee agenda due to unresolved title issues around an easement. This issue has been resolved, and the matter will now be presented to the Public Facilities and Safety Committee at 2pm. on Monday in Council Chambers. Although the agenda lists the address as the Administration Building, Beaufort County Government Robert Smalls Complex,  100 Ribaut Rd, Beaufort, the Council meets in Chambers at 1911 Boundary Street on the second floor of the building.

Given the recent personnel changes at Beaufort County, it is important to attend this meeting. We will have an interim County Administrator replacing Eric Greenway, who may not be familiar with the project. Councilwoman Alice Howard, who is very friendly to our cause does not sit on this committee. The committee chair voted against this project at the Community Services and Land Use Committee meeting, so the terrain is uncertain. Having concerned citizens present that express support for the purchase is critical. Our Council Members want to be responsive to constituent input. They can not know the will of the people if we don't speak out. Please invite your friends and neighbors who are stakeholders in this effort to attend.
