• Did you know that Port Macquarie Hastings Council has proposed building a new airport road right through sensitive koala breeding habitat?
• Did you also know that it could also mean the destruction of one of Port Macquarie’s most historic homes ‘Alban House’?
• But most importantly did you know that our Council has ‘other options’ that would be significantly less costly and less impactful on both the environment and our heritage?

We, the undersigned, oppose the proposed route for the Airport Primary Access Road as part of the Orbital Road Project (released by PMHC 22 Nov 2018) on the grounds that it will have a serious impact on sensitive koala habitat and Port Macquarie’s heritage. We also demand that Council totally remove the current proposed route from all investigations and future planning. We believe Council has several other, significantly less impactful route options available to them including taking the proposed road to existing infrastructure being the Oxley Hwy / Fernhill Rd roundabout.  In addition, we demand that the State Government not Fund this project until Port Macquarie Hastings Council identifies a less destructive route (and there are several options) and removes the proposed road (‘Blue Line’) between the Oxley Hwy and Fernhill Rd.
