Update 2

It is with deep sadness that we share that last night Council passed an amended motion put forward by Cr Boglis. This decision will prevent the display of all international flags at Council buildings.

As a result, the Palestinian flag - raised and defended through two years of sustained community effort - will be lowered in ten days’ time. We regret having to deliver this news.

We are now calling on Council to ensure the flag is lowered with the respect and dignity it deserves, through a community flag‑lowering ceremony. We also continue to ask Council to commit to a permanent and visible alternative, such as a public mural.
