Thanks to all who have signed our petition to ban the use of European Beachgrass on the Oregon Coast! We now have topped 600 signatures!
Winds this Fall brought more sand to our beaches. Where European Beachgrass is planted, there is a noticeable increase in the height of sand dunes. Unfortunately this will continue until the state takes action.
Follow the links in the petition and visit our Facebook page for more information. There continues to be misinformation about the problems European Beachgrass and rising sand dunes create along the coast. While difficult to remove, it is possible. Have a look at the efforts in California to remove this invasive and environment altering weed.*
