L92 is missing and presumed dead. L92, an adult male, was born in 1995. L pod currently has 34 members, down from nearly 60 members in the early 1990’s. With the loss of L92, the total number of Southern Resident killer whales with J, K and L pods is now only 75 whales. Our Canadian Ministers should recommend an Emergency Order under the Species at Risk Act, because they are “of the opinion that the species faces imminent threats to its survival or recovery.” This is what Lifeforce and over 140,000 people who signed the petition have asked them to do!
