Hi all, many thanks to everyone who signed the petition, the response has been overwhelming! For anybody interested, a protest has been organised for 6pm on Thursday 11th of August by Rock Against Hotels. The details can be found below for anybody interested!

"Firstly,  thank you all for signing the petition, it has exceeded 10K signatures which is phenomenal. To anyone who sent in an appeal to An Bord Pleanála, thank you kindly for going the extra mile. 

We are calling on you all to attend our protest on Thursday Aug 11th at 6pm outside the Holiday Inn. 

We will have speakers from the industry and politicians as well as a live band and DJ to demonstrate what arts are housed under Fibbers roof. We will also be joined by the burlesque, drag and kink communities so don’t be afraid to dress outlandishly as we Rock For Culture!

The protest will take aprox 60-90mins and our aim is a undeniable but peaceful disturbance of the hotel. On the day we will also get everyone to write bad reviews that look something like this:

“We are extremely disappointed in the Holiday Inn’s decision to destroy culture for easy profit when they have the money to build a new hotel anywhere they want”

“The holiday inn is getting a bad review because it’s destroying our culture / doesn’t care about Irish culture” 

We don’t want to give fake reviews because let’s just be honest and hit them where it hurts and the .0 out of 5-10 will hurt them a lot 

With the success of previous protests we believe it will take max two protests to show we meant what we said about returning, 

OUR DEMAND IS - stop the extension or we will return to demonstrate the arts you’re destroying randomly on a monthly basis - no jolted wants this for their patrons, reviews or complaints box let alone those viable to get a refund, let’s be smart!

Make signs, bring them pickets, wear all black but most importantly bring your voice and body and we will see you outside the holiday in and save our beloved Hell Hole!
