AI Data centre planned on fragile Great Nicobar Islands

Although there are protests happening in various European Countries and in US where AI Data centres are located for the adverse effects like water shortage and environmental damage ,still  The Andaman and Nicobar administration has floated an expression of interest (Eol) inviting feasibility proposals for the establishment of a private-sector-led "Green Al/ Data Centre Vertical" in the islands.

The move comes amid opposition from local tribal communities to a proposed &91,000-crore mega infrastructure project on the Great Nicobar Island(GNI).

Locals and tribals of Great Nicobar Islands are unaware of the development.
