If you haven't heard yet, parking at the Indiana State Fair has been rather problematic this year. At peak times, visitors have reported waiting in traffic for over 1 hour and 30 minutes just to park! Supporters of the Nickel Plate Railroad are invited to Rally for the Fair Train; which was halted by the Hoosier Heritage Port Authority despite passing FRA and private inspections. The rally will take place on the sidewalk outside of the Indiana State Fair (where many families will be stranded in traffic) on Saturday 8/19 ANYTIME between 9A-9P. Simply join us whenever you can and leave when you want. We will maintain a "home base" at Coliseum Ave. and 38th St. Don't forget to bring your "Save The Train" yard signs! RSVP on Facebook: https://goo.gl/9YJFgL To avoid parking issues, it is suggested that you either arrive (extra) early OR park at the Glendale Park Mall and receive a Free shuttle ride to the fair. Come out and help to raise support for reversing the ill-conceived plan to remove a viable and valuable railroad asset which has transported hundreds of thousands of visitors to the Indiana State Fair for over 30 years (among many other annual excursions).
