Tomorrow, Monday December 22nd at 6 PM we will be asking the Derby Select Board to adopt a similar resolution that the Newport City Council unanimously adopted declaring its opposition to motorized use of the Beebe Spur. Here is the text of Derby's Resolution to be presented to the select board.

We urge any and all who can attend to come to the Select Board meeting and show your opposition to motorized use of the Beebe Spur.

At tomorrow's Derby Select Board Agenda the Beebe Spur Resolution is the first item of business at 6:00 PM - please be there early! The meeting is downstairs in the Derby Clerk's Office located at 124 Main Street, Derby, VT 05829.

Next Steps

• We will engage VTrans and ask that it amend its regulations to ban motorized use of the Spur.
• We will be asking our area legislators to support a legislative change to ban motorized uses of the Beebe Spur see Draft Legislation.

We are close to 700 petition signers. Currently 684 people support the Beebe Spur (bike path) from motorized use. Spread the word to collect a few more signers for tomorrow's meeting.
