I am absolutely gutted to share with you that the Swadlincote Incinerator decision has been overturned by the Planning Inspector, meaning that it is approved.

While the outcome wasn’t what we hoped for, I want to say thank you. The way the community came together has been so inspiring. Over 5,500 people signed this petition, and many of you went further - writing formal objections, attending and speaking at planning meetings, delivering leaflets etc. The way people got involved (many for the first time) has led to more local engagement in planning and other issues. That feels like something important to build on and not give up on.
