I am delighted to share that full Post Office services will resume at our original Central Milton Keynes branch (Unit N1, 802 Midsummer Boulevard, MK9 3QA) from Wednesday 26 November at 1:00pm.
This is a significant milestone following talks of closure last year, and the arson incident in June, which disrupted services.
Thanks to the swift action of Milton Keynes City Council and the Post Office, a temporary facility has been operating at the Civic Offices. Please be aware that this interim service will close on Friday 31 October at 6:00pm, due to essential maintenance work. An alternative location has been arranged at Unit 33-33a, Midsummer Place, MK9 3GB (formerly Clarendon Fine Art Gallery, opposite Five Guys near the ‘Frog Clock’), and it will open on Tuesday 4 November at 1:00 pm.
Now, we have a clear pathway back to our city-centre branch, ensuring that residents, businesses and visitors continue to have access to vital postal, banking and community services. The new branch will be operated by Post Office retail partner UOE and will initially focus on core Post Office services, with full retail (stationery and other goods) to be introduced early next year.
Throughout this campaign, I have remained committed to protecting the Post Office facility in our city-centre - because I know just how essential it is for so many in our community. I want to thank everyone who signed the petition, shared their concerns, and stood up for this service. Our community’s voice was heard.
Thank you for your ongoing support. I will remain dedicated to protecting, and improving our vital services in Milton Keynes Central.
