Gaining Momentum – McCarthy Advocacy Launch and September Events

Wow—we have over 400 supporters who have signed our petition to Save the McCarthy Woods Nature Corridor even before we launched this publicly! Thank you for signing early and passing this onto friends, family, and community connections.
We now have a custom URL: https://www.change.org/SaveMcCarthyCorridor
Send out this link, post on your social media, and help spread the word.
If you are in Ottawa this weekend, we will be having our official launch at the Hunt Club Riverside Community Centre. We are participating in the HCCA Fall Fair. This is right next to the corridor, so if you have not had a chance to walk the woods and explore the corridor, this is the perfect opportunity to learn more. Join us at 3320 Paul Anka Drive from noon to 8pm.
More updates are coming, as we will be very active this month. This includes participating in the Fridays for the Future Ottawa-Gatineau Climate March on Saturday, September 19th—see: https://www.fridaysforfutureottawa.org/
Following this we will be having a Public Information Meeting—to update neighbors, supporters, and advocates on the latest ecological surveys, findings, legal proceedings, state of development proceedings, and ways to take further action. We will also be launching a House of Commons Petition that directly asks the federal government to stop the NCC and establish permanent protection.
Finally, our petitions will take to the streets and neighborhoods. We will be knocking on doors to spread awareness and sign up supporters. If you would like to help—see our website to sign up to help us, or take further action by sending an email to your MP.
Our webpage is now live—check in for updates and in-depth information.
