On 2/2/22, the Sequoia Healthcare District passed a resolution listing the reasons why Sutter Health should reopen the Mickelson therapy pool. On 2/22/22, the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors passed a similar resolution which was co-sponsored by former SM BOS President David Canepa and Supervisor Carole Groom.
Both resolutions resolve that “…promptly reopening the Mack E. Mickelson Arthritis and Rehabilitation Center therapy pool for community use with the same open access hours that it had prior to January of 2020 is the most prudent option to preserve and improve the health of residents in San Mateo County who now rely upon or who will rely upon, warm water therapy to maintain their health, independence, and dignity.”
