SAVE THE LOOP train service from SIDCUP LINE stations to Abbey Wood, Woolwich and Charlton

SAVE THE LOOP train service from SIDCUP LINE stations to Abbey Wood, Woolwich and Charlton
The Issue
Southeastern are scrapping the half-hourly 'loop' train service that connects Sidcup Line stations (Mottingham, New Eltham, Sidcup...) with the Woolwich Line (Abbey Wood, Woolwich, Charlton, Greenwich...) on 11th December.
This will remove our area's only direct public transport link with the Elizabeth Line at Abbey Wood - one of the few north-south transport links we have. The loop service is also used by Charlton fans all along the Sidcup Line to get to the Valley, and by Greenwich University students getting to and from the Avery Hill Campus.
The removal of the 'loop' service is part of Southeastern's disastrous December timetable changes - which were announced without any public consultation whatsoever - and which also reduce morning peak time commuter services on the Sidcup Line from 21 trains to 18.
We the undersigned call on Southeastern to:
- Re-instate the half-hourly 'loop' train service in the Southeastern timetable as soon as possible, so that local residents can still have direct public transport access to and from the Elizabeth Line at Abbey Wood, and Woolwich, Charlton and Greenwich stations
- Reverse the planned reduction in morning peak services in to London on the Sidcup Line, which will cause overcrowding on the train services that remain
- Run a full public consultation on a new timetable and start listening to local commuters - your customers - who are getting less and less service, for more and more money
Note: Councillor Matt Hartley (Mottingham, Coldharbour and New Eltham ward, Royal Borough of Greenwich) has secured a commitment from Southeastern that they will look again specifically at their decision to remove the 'loop' service. Please sign and share this petition far and wide to demonstrate to Southeastern how valuable the service is. Thank you!!!
PS and here's a video on why Southeastern's Sidcup Line changes make no sense
