I warned about this months ago.  Now the Southfork Ranch we all know and love is truly at the precipice of extinction.  

"Don't forgive and never forget; Do unto others before they do unto you; and third and most importantly, keep your eye on your friends, because your enemies will take care of themselves."   ------ J.R. Ewing.  (I actually said that.  Write that down!)

The Forever Resorts heirs abandoned Southfork and their patriarch's legacy for the almighty dollar.  I can hear the giant sucking sound even now.  Goodbye and good riddance!

Big name developers and home builders have tire kicked this legendary property, salivating over a checkerboard of big lots connected with strips of concrete to rows and rows of new homes.  

Nothing unique or special about that -- just drive for miles all around DFW and find the same thing.  Dust, construction debris, walls, traffic, displaced wildlife and birds, acres after acres of rooftops and chimneys, no more trees and open pastures, no more horses or longhorns; beautiful land  that will be ravaged that hasn't been disturbed in centuries.

AND DESPITE WHAT YOU READ IN NEWS REPORTS AND CANNED PRESS RELEASES, SOUTHFORK RANCH IS FAR MORE THAN JUST "THE EWING MANSION".   

"Anything worth having is worth going for -- all the way."  J.R. Ewing. (I actually said that too).

To the City of Parker:   

                              "Don't compromise or be bullied. No zoning changes.  No plat approvals.  No building permits.  Keep development moratoriums in place." 

To the Employees of Southfork Ranch: 

                             "You are more valuable than the dirt and grass you walk across each day to do your jobs, bringing joy and pleasure to tens of thousands of guests and fans.  Hang in there. You will be rewarded.  J.R. has got your back."  

To Trade Day Vendors and Patrons:

                              "Nothing is changing any time soon. It's business as usual."

To Southfork Fans, Event Customers, Tourists and Guests:

                              "Keep going. Keep coming.  Our gates are open.  Your event is not in jeopardy. "Contracts were made to be broken, honey, but a handshake is the law of God." - J.R. Ewing (I said that).  So Don't believe everything you have heard about the future of Southfork. I extend my hand to each one of you."

And finally to the Developer and Builders who would forever alter this landmark and legendary property:   

                                 "THIS IS SPARTA!!!!!!!!"

Ole J.R. has a few tricks up his sleeve.
