The Issue

For decades, the LA Kings Valley Ice Center has been more than just a rink—it has been a home. A home for thousands of kids who have learned discipline, teamwork, and resilience through hockey. A home for families who have built a community around early mornings, late nights, and a shared love for the game.

Now, that home is being taken away. The LA Kings Valley Ice Center's Glacier sheet, Lobby Area and Natty Hatty Proshop scheduled to be demolished on May 1, 2026. This devastating decision threatens not only to remove a crucial part of the facility but also to dismantle the community and legacy that have been cultivated over decades. Thousands of young athletes rely on the LA Kings Valley Ice Center not just for physical activity and sports involvement, but also for personal growth and development. The "Home of the California Heat" has developed athletes that have moved on to the NHL, NCAA, NTDP, USHL, NAHL, NCDC, ACHA and more.

Youth hockey in the San Fernando Valley is at risk. By demolishing this center, we are taking away the chance for countless children to develop vital life skills, make lifelong friendships, and build character in a healthy, active environment.

The significance of the LA Kings Valley Ice Center extends beyond the rink. It is a cornerstone of local gatherings, hosting school events, recreational leagues, and community bonding activities.

We are calling on local government officials, community leaders, and philanthropists to come together to explore alternative solutions. The demolition doesn't have to mean the end of this community haven. We ask for investment in renovation, relocation, or the preservation of this vital youth sports center.

Please sign this petition to prevent the closure of the LA Kings Valley Ice Center, preserve the growth and development of our kids, maintain the spirit of community, and continue the legacy of youth hockey in the San Fernando Valley. Your signature can make a difference in keeping this cherished place alive for future generations.

Help us save our home—your home. Sign the petition today.
