SAVE THE JA BUILDING AT JAMES J. FERRIS HIGH SCHOOL

The Issue

Dear Parents, Students, Staff, and Community Members,

We are reaching out to ask for your urgent support to preserve the safe, comfortable, and effective learning environment at Ferris High School. The Jersey City Public Schools plan to move 500 students from the Ferris Annex back into the main building. This shift will require scheduling around 160 class periods in a building that no longer has to space to accommodate them. Over the years, Ferris has lost several classrooms due to renovations, such as larger science labs, and the removal of vocational spaces like woodshop and home economics. This change will lead to overcrowding, strain our resources, and disrupt the positive atmosphere we've built for our students. Ferris is currently a safe functioning school, and we want it stay that way. We need your help to make our voices heard! Please sign and share around this petition and urge the district to reconsider their decision. This will affect many of us in the long run. It'll be something that will take a while to adjust to. Together, we can protect the quality of education and environment our students deserve. Thank you for standing with us.
