Save the Institute for Global Leadership at Tufts!
The Issue
Tufts has announced that the Institute for Global Leadership (IGL) will be disbanded. EPIIC and its symposium and ALLIES will be moved to Tisch College but there has been no statement about what will happen to the many other student groups that operate under the IGL such as Women in International Relations, The South Asian Regional Committee, The Middle East Research Group, and many others. We worry that in moving select parts of the IGL to Tisch, Tufts is jeopardizing the overall mission, community, and pedagogy of the Institute.
We are joining together to show that the students, alumni, and Tufts community at large do not support this decision.
As the world is growing ever divided with new transnational crisis and global conflicts, we need now more than ever to continue to foster young leaders who are ready to be at the forefront of the fight for a better future for all.
We call on the university to reverse this decision and instead give the institute more support, funding, and faculty in order to allow it to successfully achieve all of its goals.
