Let me start by saying, well done! Over 1,200 signatures and still trickling in.
However.
A public meeting has been scheduled for November 15th at 10am in regards to the book challenge. I will be attending in support of the library and, of course, the Heartstopper series. I'm sure the group who want to censor the book will be there as well. Potentially it will be held at the Bellaire library here in Michigan, but I will have more details on the exact location soon. If you can attend, please do! We need all the help we can get. If not, keep circulating the petition so we can get more signatures and ramp up the pressure on the opposition. Keep calling and emailing the Bellaire library. Tell them how amazing they are and that you support them keeping the Heartstopper series exactly where it is.
We can't stop now. Fight for the library. Fight for the queer kids looking for representation. Fight against censorship, against bigotry, against homophobia. Let's show them hate can't win.
