I've been a bit quiet on this matter during the all fragile closing period. I waited for the contracts to get signed, all the legal actions to be withdrawn, for the statement to begin to reflect the agreements...

Those two months have given me a renewed sense of 'this is my forever home'. As a General Contractor I worked on many homes, my elderly neighbors brought me in. Her words resonate with me today; "It's good enough as it will see me out"

While I've given up on many life dreams, some may come back to me yet like having a horse again to ride and to scuba dive again. But the biggest dream quest I desired was to live in this home for the rest of my life.

Well, dang if that's not a highly viable option for me today. This home for my last 19 years is my forever home. It will 'see me out'. . . stronger more staunch words have never been said in mylifetime.

Without the 400 plus folks who've talked to me, coached me, hugged me, called and answered my calls over the many months; for those who didn't know me but shared my story anyways; for those who cared deeply that 'no Lyme Disease patient should ever be treated this way', I adore you for saying so.

It's clearly been the community strength and my own 'bulldozer temperment' on such issues which got me over the finish line.

This battle is over, this battle is won and won for all parties. Our agreement is good for the banks, good for my local economy, good for my real property interests but best and most important; BEST FOR ME!

Clearly the confluence of these actions led me to believe I was within my rights to demand an opportunity to sign those documents. Many legal minds said it couldn't be 'recreated'...many people said, vacate the premises, file bankruptcy and move on...

I'm ultra happy that I stood my ground, filed a $500,000 counterclaim and advocated for myself.

Sometimes being a pain in the ass over a righteous issue has value, proven by the outcome here in this now 'closed' matter.

Blessings to all who took time to sign, share and discuss this matter. Each and every action added to the confluence towards a highly positive outcome.

Hugs, deep respect, unlimited kindness seepes like my tears of gratitude in the knowledge that I'm home. Home to stay, and with that robust future, The Flippin Lyme Foundation has a forever home as well. I can resume BVT coaching and allow patients to continue to come stay here and to learn how to better care for themselves.

No way, no how could I have done this without you all.

I never want to see another patient endure what's I've endured.

We can and we must do better.

Much love,

Deb Elder
