Subject: Please Reconsider the Conversion of the Heidelberg Outlet Bins

Dear Ms. McIntosh,

I’m writing as someone who cares deeply about our community and about the mission of Goodwill SWPA. I respectfully ask you to reconsider the decision to convert the Heidelberg Goodwill Outlet Bins (1905 Washington Street, Heidelberg, PA 15106) into a traditional retail store.

For many people in this region, the Heidelberg Bins are more than a shopping destination — they are a lifeline.

Small local resellers and entrepreneurs rely on the Bins to source inventory that allows them to support their families, pay bills, and keep their small businesses alive.
Lower-income shoppers depend on the affordability of the Bins in a time when the cost of living continues to rise.
Immigrant and international community members use the Bins to earn income that supports loved ones both here and overseas, responsibly purchasing items that might otherwise end up in a landfill.
And for many individuals with limited job opportunities, the Bins provide a rare path toward financial independence and dignity.
Closing or converting this single outlet removes a critical resource that hundreds of people rely on every week to make ends meet. With other Goodwill retail stores located only minutes away in Banksville and Robinson, the Bins fill a completely different and irreplaceable need.

I know Goodwill’s mission centers on opportunity, empowerment, and community support. Preserving the Heidelberg Outlet Bins directly aligns with that mission and protects the people who depend on it most.

I respectfully urge you to reconsider this decision or explore alternatives such as keeping a partial Bins section, offering Outlet days, or relocating the Bins to another nearby facility.

Thank you sincerely for taking the time to hear the voices of those who are most affected. Your leadership has the power to protect a resource that truly changes lives.

Warm regards,
[Your Name]
