Save the Golden Nugget! Stop Duplicate Gas Stations!
The Issue
To the Residents of Kettering, Moraine, and Dayton,
Petition: Say NO to the Demolition of Golden Nugget Pancake House for a Redundant Gas Station!
We, the undersigned, call upon the citizens to stand united against the relentless spread of gas stations, particularly the proposed demolition of the beloved Golden Nugget Pancake House to make way for yet another unnecessary and unappealing gas station operated by GetGo.
Our community thrives on its unique charm, local businesses, and landmarks that have become an integral part of our identity. The Golden Nugget Pancake House is one such cherished establishment that has been serving delicious breakfasts and fostering a sense of togetherness for decades. Its potential replacement with yet another gas station represents an unfortunate trend that diminishes the character of our city.
We believe that the constant onslaught of gas stations, with two or three appearing at every intersection, is not only unsightly but also detrimental to our environment. The increased traffic congestion, air pollution, and potential groundwater contamination pose significant concerns for the health and well-being of our community.
Moreover, adding another gas station in close proximity to existing ones would lead to redundancy and wasteful utilization of valuable space. Rather than fostering economic growth, this move could stifle opportunities for new businesses and limit the variety of services available to our residents.
We call upon GetGo and other corporations to consider alternative locations for their gas stations, ones that do not involve demolishing treasured establishments like the Golden Nugget Pancake House. We urge them to collaborate with the community and seek input from local residents and business owners before making such impactful decisions.
In signing this petition, we demand that our city officials prioritize the preservation of our community's character and the protection of its unique landmarks. We encourage our fellow citizens to support local businesses and advocate for sustainable development that enhances the well-being of our community.
Together, let us raise our voices against this unnecessary and redundant gas station proposal and preserve the Golden Nugget Pancake House for generations to come. If we can stop GetGo from moving in, maybe we can het the Golden Nugget back open!
Thank you for your support and commitment to maintaining the soul of our city.
Sincerely
