Save the Gervasoni Pavilion Kew

Save the Gervasoni Pavilion Kew
The issue
For over forty years the Jack Gervasoni Pavilion has been a fitting commemoration of a lifelong dedication to community recreation and sport by former Mayor of Kew, Jack Gervasoni.
In 2022 City of Boroondara started consultation on a new pavilion that would encase the current facility. Community members gave feedback regarding the need to address the historic / commemorative function of this facility and to talk with the family.
The consultant on the project promised that Council would make contact with the family, which has not occurred.
In 2023 City of Boroondara released a further plan which ensured there was no point of reference to the Jack Gervasoni Pavilion.
If you knew, were taught or coached by Jack Gervasoni I hope you will know of his great passion for the people of Kew and healthy active lifestyles.
If you care about the history and legacy of the City of Kew you may care about removing commemorative links to former citizens.
I hope you sign this petition that is seeking:
- a meeting between Boroondara Council and the widow of Jack Gervasoni;
- a proposal to ensure that the name of the community facility (Jack Gervasoni Pavilion) is retained and remains in a prominent place
